The site already supports research on ecosystem processes\, envir onmental change and environmental monitoring. With this event\, we want to broaden the community around Skogaryd and create space for more biodivers ity-focused research.The day is designed to bring together researchers and students interested in biodiversity\, wetlands\, restoration and ecosyste m research. You may already have a research idea\, be looking for a field site\, or simply be curious about what Skogaryd could offer.The event will be free of charge and transportation will be arranged from Gothenburg and back. Please register in the link belowThriving Wetlands - visit to Skoga ryd Research CatchmentAs part of the program\, we are pleased to welcome M atti Ermold from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsv erket).Matti works with wetlands at Naturvårdsverket and will give us a n ational perspective on wetland protection\, restoration and the role of we tlands in achieving environmental objectives. His presentation will also s et the scene for an important question for the rest of the day:How do we k now whether a wetland is thriving—and what role research and long-term m onitoring can play in answering that question?Explore SkogarydAfter the pr esentations\, we will head outdoors to explore the research environments a nd infrastructure at Skogaryd. Researchers will introduce several key site s\, explain ongoing research and highlight opportunities for future resear ch\, monitoring and education.We will visit four stations:• \; \ ; \; \;Rewetting site — research and monitoring in a rewetted en vironment• \; \; \; \;Go:EPIC the new ACTRIS explorative platform— atmospheric measurements and the visiting ACTRIS installation s• \; \; \; \;Wet forest &\; Malaise trap — flux me asurements and biodiversity monitoring \;• \; \; \;  \;Följesjön — the lake and its surrounding research environmentAt each stop\, we will also encourage a relaxed mini-bioblitz (species survey). W e will look for and identify species along the way— as a way of explorin g Skogaryd together and seeing the environment from different perspectives .Note: No previous species-identification experience is required!What coul d thrive at Skogaryd?We will finish the day with an open discussion about the research at Skogaryd with emphasis on biodiversity.What biodiversity q uestions could be addressed here?
