MERGE is recruiting a climate modeling programmer

The scientific programmer will contribute to the further development and maintenance of a regional climate model (RCA-GUESS), a global Earth system model (EC-EARTH), a dynamic vegetation/ecosystem model (LPJ-GUESS) and other models used within MERGE.

Tasks may include, for example, the development and extension of existing models to incorporate new variables and processes; testing, coupling and evaluation of individual model components, improvement of user interfaces; contact with the development of diagnostic tools for model evaluation; keeping in contact with LUNARC (www.lunarc.lu.se); and transformation and archiving of meteorological and other large datasets. The work will support and be carried out in close cooperation with researchers involved in the development and applications of the models.
